Founded in July 2025 by my good friend and fellow Engineering Student Vernon Van Zyl and myself, the ECU Space Club has quickly become a hub for academic exploration and collaboration among students in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, and Aviation at our campus.
At its core, the club is dedicated to the development of hands-on learning, with a mission to design, assemble, and test high-powered rockets and low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, empowering members to apply their learnings and theoretical knowledge into tangible projects that push the boundaries of space technology. Beyond these ambitious projects, we cultivate a supportive student community through engaging workshops on a range of relevant topics and social events.
In our first month we attracted an impressive array of talent from our student cohort and are already deeply immersed in planning 2026 initiatives across rocket and satellite platforms. For ‘ESC’ the sky is not the limit!
Committed to excellence, and officially affiliated with ECU Guild, the ECU Space Club upholds the Guild’s Code of Conduct and embodies the values of inclusivity, integrity, and innovation that define our members.
